It is Done!!!! :))))) [Jun. 20th, 2009|09:33 pm]
May I introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Dusty Joe Pack. :)

Everything went exceptionally well, including the cookout at our house after the reception. Clean up is done and now it's time for a shower, an aspirin and sleep.

Thanks to all you for the comments. I'll post more and a good picture of the kids later. This is about all I have tonight.

Everything is ready, food cooked, decorations done, marriage license, rings, dress, tux, music, photographers, chapel, ice, bouquets.... I don't think we have forgotten anything. Just have to load the van and get there.

[mood | tired]

Well....things were starting to calm down around here but now I'm not holding my breath. Possibility of sever storms tonight and tomorrow. Good thing Supernatural is a re-run again this week.

We had some fires here one week ago today. Humidity was down to 7% and it's been really dry and windy. Within a 3 mile radius of my house 17 homes burned and countless out-buildings. The fire department was overwhelmed and concentrating only on the homes they had a chance of saving. We packed up to leave and moved our vehicles and belongings to safety south of here, then watered as much of the area as we could. Stationed Dusty on top of the house so he could watch for embers that might land. We were able to see the flames from the back door of the house but they thankfully didn't get to us. Lots of folks weren't so lucky. One of the girls in my office was evaculated from her home and she didn't know if it burned until Friday morning. The fire got right up to her foundation and all around but didn't burn the house.

As I said, things are calming down now. Just hope they stay that way for a while. I could use the rest.

Wedding plans for Dusty and Deborah are proceeding. June 20th is the date. Dusty got their cabin finished to the point that it only needs a little finishing work and they have moved in. :)) Makes my house quieter at night but I kinda miss them. Deborah and I watch Supernatural every week together on the 72 inch tv while Dusty's at school. You should see Dean and Sam in High Def at 72 inches. OMG!!!!! :))))))))))

Must go now. Hope all is well with everyone else. TTFN. .....grrrrrr..... ;)

'Bout Time to post again [Dec. 2nd, 2008|06:58 am]
I think. :)

We been so busy lately, it's not even funny. Everytime I quit the second job, they ask me to come back or offer me a prime event to work. Got to hear both performances of Trans-Siberian on Sunday. Not bad when they paid me to be there. :)) And I have the events down to about 5 a month now, so that's not too bad. The money will come in handy here at Christmas too.

Couple of weeks ago someone posted one of those fan mix things. It had Christian Kane's song "More Than I Deserve". I had been wanting to hear him sing as I hadn't in the past. Heard Jason Manns, Steve Carlson and even Jensen (damn good too) but had not heard Christian. I loved what I heard and went looking for a CD. The only one I could find was the "Kane" CD from the London live performance a while back. I'll order that but I found out Christian Kane has a new solo album coming out soon. He also has a 'My Space' page with some of the new songs on it. Needless to say I have been frequenting (sp?) that page pretty much every day. Anyway, found out he's going to be on a new TNT series starting this week and was going to be in OKC doing a promotional junket for the show. Also found out he was raised in Norman and went to OU. :)) He was performing at Toby Keith's last night and the performance was free. :)) So a group of friends and I went to have dinner and hear him. We also scored passes to the screening of the new series last night. We liked the show very much. We also got to talk to him, get pictures and autographs. He was nice...ohhhhh yeah... :)))))))) Not a real big man. About the height of my Dad (taller than me but that ain't sayin' much) and stocky but not as stocky as he appears on the television.

The new CD won't be out until mid-January but he said the songs on his myspace page would be on there.

I have vids of his performance but not sure where to post them for any interested parties. I'll figure something out. But here's on of the pictures I took last night. And yes... I was standing up but he was on a little bit of an elevated surface. :))

Well.... [Apr. 22nd, 2008|08:27 pm]
So..... on my way home from work today I passed by a church and saw this message on the sign out front:

"Stop, Drop and Roll doesn't work in Hell".

Does it mean I'm obssessed if my first thoughts were Sam's voice yelling this at Dean? :))

The front yard

The puppy that took out the electrical (which is still live, btw)

And the ones that blocked my car under the carport. But at least it missed the car. :)

But things are good. We got a generator and heat and water and no one's hurt. So we're good. :)

Tis Time [Nov. 29th, 2007|06:48 am]
[Current Location |Work]
[music |Brad Paisley&Sara Evans]

to post again and announce that I'm still alive. Tired, I hate citations, I don't want to be boss and I'm not too fond of the joker that gave us the heave ho from the garden center location. I have lots of colorful thoughts about him, but I'll refrain from sounding too ugly.

No I won't.

More than a year that...person... has had to tell if we needed to move. And we've asked repeatedly. What do we need to do? Do we need to make plans to move? What? Oh no. Things are fine. You keep up the maintenance of the property and give me a trees, shrubs and bedding plants when spring rolls around and things will be fine. You won't have to move.

Then....

I want you and all your stuff off the property in 2 weeks time. You see, I'm putting in a day care center in this building between where you are and the liquor store and I need to dig new lateral lines so we can put this new sewer system in so it can be pumped out every night on the ground here so it will be soaked in before the kiddies come out to play in the mornings. blah...blah...blah...

Don't know if he's legal or not on that stuff, but I'm still betting the 'day care' doesn't last. We'll sit back and watch. And operate the garden center from the house.

Just as long as it doesn't kill the parents getting the moving done.

So that's the end of my gripe session. Cause if I think too long on it, I'm sure a headache will occur. Might be the blood pressure going up when I think about the evil landlord. General Waverly, he ain't.

So what's with all the fat Jensen remarks and stories? Did he suddenly put on extra weight after Chicago? Or are a lot of people looking at a different actor? Cause that boy didn't look even plump to me. Did I show up at the wrong con?

Ahhhh....Chicago [Nov. 11th, 2007|05:18 pm]
It has been a good time, despite the evil seating. The back row was not meant for short people, but it wasn't really meant for medium to tall people either, unless your Jared height. :)

But with the help of my trusty monopod and camera stealth I have some, only some, descent pictures to share. Videos too. :))

It has been 10 years since I last flew on a plane and the experience has been totally different from the last time. .....sigh..... But, as with my first time ever flying, I have had an adventure. This time toward the good side. :))

Thanks to Sandor for letting me hitch a ride with her back to the airport. It gave me extra stalking time. :)) Unfortunately, the pictures came out blurry for the most part. :( Pookies. :( But I think you can still tell what's going on. :)

In my hours to kill I saw there was only one flight to Vancouver this afternoon on my airlines. Stretch, I know, but Hey...I had time to kill and they had not even posted my gate yet. So......off I go to Gate C24...which had my vote with the '24'. :))) Anyway, I was standing round the waiting area when I heard this beeping sound. Turns out it was one of those zamboni(sp?) things that take people places in the airport and it was about to run over me. I jumped to the side to get out of it's way and turned to see Jared, Sandy, Jensen & his girl all within 2 feet of me. :))

I waited an appropriate, inconspicious, few moments before whipping out my pocket camera and snapping a picture or two. They came out blurry, which I already said, but I think you can still tell who they are. :))

See what you think.

And then again....maybe not. But it was them. :)))

Ahhhhhhhhh...... [Sep. 26th, 2007|08:51 pm]
The State Fair is done and so am I. Oh my gosh. For 10 days, I have survived with less than 3 hours of sleep a night, sometimes 1 hour. I never knew I could down so many energy drinks. Two night off during that time but it didn't seem to help. Since Monday morning about 1am, I've been trying to catch up on sleep. 4 hours, 2 hours, 5 hours, 2 hours, 7 1/2 hours....maybe by this weekend I'll catch up. :)) This paycheck better be worth it.

I is back.... [Aug. 7th, 2007|04:22 pm]
from Kazcon.

It was barrels of fun. Reminded me of the old Mountain Media Cons in Denver and the FuFest (but without the guests). Small but entertaining.

Lawrence, Kansas is a much larger town than I had expected. Of course, I didn't know the University of Kansas was located there (the red ones, not the purple ones). Big name eating and shopping venues. And where do we make a run to?... Wal-Mart and Sonic. It also has some very nice older houses with wonderful wrap around porches. The houses reminded me of your's, Bertie.

Met a girl who flew from OKC to Wichita to attend. She had been attending Revelcon and met Sue Wells there. Sue was one of our group, so Holly (the new girl) joined us. She was a blast and turns out she lives here in OKC (well, Norman) and we've invited her to join us for lunches.

The panels were nice too. Lots of talking about nothing but our favorite demon hunters. And Tammy convinced me I wanted to go on the tour of Lawrence. Turns out we went to the original old Stull cemetary (sp?). If you don't know about this one, it's supposed to be the most haunted cemetary in the US. Also supposed to be a gateway to hell and be the burial site of the devils youngest son. Some weird things were happening, but no sign of Satan. But just to make sure, we made sure we visited in the daylight and were gone well before dark. :) We're daring but we ain't stupid. Then we visited the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence. It's supposed to be haunted too. See a theme here?

Anyway, the tour was conducted in a stretch limo. See....

But they forgot to fill the booze holders. :( And not one single ice cube or Dr. Pepper in sight in that thing.

The con provided us with breakfast each morning and lunch on Friday and Saturday. All of food was excellent and filling. At the party on Saturday night there was a buffet of finger foods as well as a bar. We had music and raffles. Unfortunately, I had one of my stupid headaches and had to go to the room. I intended to go back but I fell asleep. By the time I woke up the others were returning to the room. They played a game of Supernatural Twister that Sue had won and I slept some more. :(

Sunday morning we had a full breakfast and the auction then loaded up and came home. It's only a 4 to 5 hour drive for me and Tammy, but Christy and Laura had another 5 hours travel to Amarillo.

But it was worth it. And if we get to do Kazcon next year, I hope all my SPN buds can go. It will be spectacular.

Then yesterday I helped haul wood. :( Oh how the mighty have fallen. ..sigh....
